This Year 2013

This was a year full of rich memories and adventures.
Challenge 1
  1. I started the year canvassing Peace Above the Storm and The Great Controversy with Ouchita Hills.
  2. I helped Stella throw a banquet for the Adventist Youth Society at Edinburg English Church. I count that amazing event as my Senior  Banquet.
  3. I honed my sewing and cooking skills
  4. I taught Beginners/Cradle Roll with April, Dominique and Vanessa. So much fun!
  5. I started learning to drive and got a restricted license
  6. I got offered a job as a nanny to three brilliant prodigies in Sweden (no, I couldn't take it 😭).
  7. I moved to Puerto Rico.
  8. I started college life as a Spanish as a Second Language (SSL) student at Universidad Adventista de las Antillas (my first time in a classroom). I studied in a language (Spanish) I did not know and, by the grace of God, passed all my classes.
  9. I started learning to swim!
  10. I went canvassing again this time with Antillean.
Challenge 2
Some of my many food experiments. Almost ready to be wifed ;P

With some of the besties at the most awesome banquet in my life.
Learning to drive with Mr. Sergio!
Comida de Puerto Rico. Arroz, habichuelas y mofongo. Mi gusta.
La Isla Del Encanto.
Mi gente más favorita en el mundo. Mis hermanos. // My favorite people in the world--my siblings.

The photo challenge was harder this year because I took a picture of everything. I’m a little weird the small insignificant things are my favorite photo memories.

  • Go to Spain
  • Canvass
  • Go on a mission trip
  • Understand the Kingdom
Challenge 4
Dear E, I miss our friendship. I miss the way we used to share those fun tidbits of life that made us happy. I was always intrigued by the way you could do that. It was like you could catch moments and emotions and give them to me. I miss our yummy conversations --your stories, your deep thoughts. Sometimes, I wish I listened more. I miss your little snorts of laughter.
They warned me I'd lose you. Out of sight, out of mind. I kind of felt it too, because our friendship was the sort that one had to be physically present for. I braced myself, but my heart still fell a little when I lost you. There’s a hole the shape of you in my life now. I will always remember you fondly. Hearts, J.

I resolve to better understand the what it means to be apart of the Kingdom of Heaven.
